School of Fish Project of 2006

This project was the School of Fish Project 2006 and benefited Driftwood Elementary/Middle School, Blanco Elementary/Middle School, and Pacific High School.

First, the Port Orford Arts Council surveyed the district teachers for their wish list for Art Supplies. Then, we found sources for scrap plywood and enlisted volunteers to cut the plywood into "fish shapes" (one shape for each of the schools, one fish per each student enrolled in the schools). Once cut, we primed the shapes, drilled holes for mounting the shapes to the fence, sponsored a paint out day with the kids and artists, sealed the fish for outdoor weather and mounted them to the Driftwood fence.
